This website was a project assigned to me during my web design internship at Level 5 Advertising.
Situation: I was tasked with creating a new web template for the company’s use for their powersports, marine, and RV clients. I worked independently with the guidance of my mentor to formulate ideas and organize my research.
Goals:
Research: My mentor provided me with data on which website features were used most often (received the most clicks) and which were rarely used. I compiled a list of what features I needed to keep above the fold and what I was able to put below, utilizing readings from several research articles on customer habits on motor vehicle dealership sites to justify the placement of each element.
Design & Implementation: The next step was to organize information to make compelling visual designs with effective visual messaging. I made my initial changes directly on the developer URL I was provided, utilizing preexisting elements, standard design patterns, and human interface guidelines to create a web template that would be optimal for customers' user experience.
Evaluation: The next step would be to measure interface usability, specifically usability testing. Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to test my web template prototype, as I had limited access to my targeted audience (RV clients) and limited time.
Presentation: I communicated ideas through written, verbal, and multimedia presentations (PowerPoint). Here is a transcript of my presentation. Web template utilized WordPress features, HTML, and CSS and is optimized for multiple screen resolutions.
